About This Dog for Adoption

Jim's ideal home

Meet Jim, a charming 4-year-old ex-racing greyhound with a heart as big as his waggy tail! Jim is a tall, gentle soul who’s traded the racing for a life for one with short strolls, long snoozes, and plenty of fuss and affection.
Jim is a friendly boy who adores attention and will lean into you for extra fuss. He’s curious about the world and enjoys sniffing his way through walks, especially if he has a doggy friend by his side. He could live with another greyhound and gets along well with primary-aged children, making him a great fit for a family home.
Jim can be left alone for short periods, but he’ll thrive with a family who can help him settle in and learn the basics of home life. He’s still building his confidence around the car - he might need a little encouragement getting in, but once he’s there, he’s a relaxed and happy passenger, ready for adventures.

Could you be Jim's perfect match?

Jim is looking for a loving home that can offer him comfort, companionship, and a cosy bed to snooze in after his walks. He will need support with settling into home life and learning basic skills. If you’re ready to welcome a sweet, snoozy, tail-wagging friend into your life, Jim might just be the perfect match for you.

Rodney's ideal home Rodney is ready and raring to start the search for a home! An ex-racer, we don’t know whether he’s been around kids. He’s gentle and calm though, so we think he’ll be able to live with primary school children that can go slowly with him at first. Rodney can share his home with another dog, provided they get along during a dog mix in centre first.

Greyhound Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Greyhound.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Greyhound Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
