About This Dog for Adoption

Eve's ideal home

Eve can live with other Greyhounds and children of high school age. It's unlikely she has been in a home before and will need all of her basic training.

Could you be Eve's perfect match?

Gentle Eve has settled well into centre life and despite having never lived with a dog before, she seems to be loving the company of her fellow Greyhound kennel mate. She happily lays on her bed watching the world go by but she's up like a hot when she knows it's time for walkies! In fact, she's so keen to get going that she tries to slip out of the door before we can get her ready! Eve has been walking very contentedly offsite with her leggy friends but she seems unsure of other breeds, potentially due to a lack of exposure to anything other than Greyhounds. She doesn't like boys sniffing her behind and isn't shy about letting them know how she feels! With people she is brilliant, very friendly and happy to approach anyone. She employs the Greyhound lean to great effect, ensuring her handlers don't forget to make time on walks for cuddles. Eve has spent her life in racing and will need a family that is patient with her as she settles in to home life.

Greyhound Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Greyhound.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Greyhound Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
