Doreen
3 weeksDoreen's ideal home
Doreen is a four-year-old Greyhound looking for loving, patient, and compassionate adopters. She is looking for a home where she can live with another dog, a calm, confident medium to large dog. She will need a home without cats or small furries and she has no history of being around livestock. She could share her home with teenage children. She has been housetrained here at the rehoming centre. She is new to home living and will need lots of praise and reassurance to build confidence in a new environment. Time left alone is best built up gradually. She is timid around new people and will possibly need any potential adopters to come and meet her a few times with their dog to build up a bond with her.
Could you be Doreen's perfect match?
We have seen Doreen’s confidence grow gradually in the short amount of time she has spent in our care so far. For her future adopters it will be heartwarming and rewarding to see her come around and her personality shine through. Doreen requires a hands-off approach initially, she has a shy, timid nature, and she comes over and initiates a fuss at her own pace. Doreen is social with other dogs; she is polite and gentle. She has been sharing her space with another Greyhound and enjoys going for walks and meeting other dogs. As an exracing Greyhound she has learnt to wear her muzzle as a precautionary measure to keep the local wildlife safe. She hasn’t yet shown any interest in playing with toys. She enjoys her food and treats.
