About This Dog for Adoption
Paddy's ideal home
If you have space in your home (and on your sofa!) for a big-hearted Greyhound who is ready to swap racetracks for relaxing with his favourite people, then Paddy might just be your new best friend.
At 3-and-a-half years old, Paddy is still learning all about life beyond the racing world, he is taking it all in his long-legged stride. He is a sweet, affectionate boy who loves a good fuss—he will happily and quietly appear next to you just to be near and enjoy a cuddle. What he would love most is a secure garden of his own, where he can have his daily zoomies, stretch those legs, and then flop down for a well-earned nap.
He is friendly with visitors, happy to meet people and could live with children aged 5 and up who are kind and respectful. He is also dog-social and loves hanging out with his sighthound pals, though he would be just as content as the only dog in the home. Due to his racing background, he must be kept on lead and muzzled in public, and would likely chase anything small and furry if given the chance!
Could you be Paddy's perfect match?
Paddy is looking for a home that can help him gently learn the ropes of pet life. He will need patience with his housetraining, and a bit of support with things like recall and learning basic cues, but he is clever and eager to please.
He is curious and calm in new places, loves to explore with his nose, and has been great at the vets and with handling. He travels well in the car, hops straight in, and settles beautifully. While not hugely food-motivated yet, he has enjoyed a licki mat and takes treats gently (even if he does occasionally spit them out!). Paddy enjoys a brush, and while he is not yet sure what to do with toys, he has shown a flicker of interest in squeaky stuffed toys.
This lovely lad will thrive in a kind, calm home that gives him time to settle and feel safe. Once he does, you will get to see the best of both worlds—a playful, zoomy goofball outside and a total cuddlebug indoors.
If you can offer Paddy the soft landings he deserves, he will repay you with love, loyalty, and that classic Greyhound lean.
