Maple's ideal home
Maple is a super sweet four-year-old Greyhound who can be a little lacking in confidence, but with patience, reassurance and time, she really begins to show her lovely personality. She can be shy when first coming out of her kennel and may need some time to warm up in new environments, but once she feels comfortable, she enjoys exploring and having a good sniff around. Maple is happy to have her harness put on by handlers she knows, although she can be unsure with new people and will need time to build trust. She enjoys a fuss once she is comfortable with you and responds particularly well to gentle, vocal reassurance from her person. Maple can be sensitive to sudden sounds and may take a little while to feel settled in unfamiliar surroundings.

Maple can settle well when left alone, although this will need to be built up gradually from scratch, and her new family should be prepared to give her plenty of time to adjust. She could potentially live with another calm, independent dog, subject to a successful dog mix at the centre. Maple can live with secondary school-aged children who understand that she is a nervous girl and are able to give her the space and time she needs. Her new family will need to be patient and committed to making multiple visits to the centre to build a trusting relationship with her before she goes home. With the right family, Maple has the potential to blossom into a wonderful companion.
