About This Dog

Mario's ideal home

Mario is a big, beautiful Greyhound looking for a new home through no fault of his own, as his owner is sadly no longer able to care for him due to health reasons.

Mario is happiest when he has company and can find being left completely alone difficult. He settles well when another dog is with him, so he will need to live with a suitable canine companion and would thrive in a home where he can enjoy plenty of time with his family.

Due to his size, Mario could live with secondary school-aged children who are confident around a large dog. He has a strong prey drive, so he cannot live with cats or other small furry pets and will need to remain on lead when out and about. He would also love a secure, private garden where he can stretch his legs and enjoy a good run.

Could you be Mario's perfect match?

Mario is a very friendly and affectionate boy who loves being around people. He enjoys plenty of fuss, relaxing on the sofa and playing gently with his soft toys. He can also get a little excited when it is time for a walk and may gently nibble at your hand, but this is simply his way of showing his enthusiasm.

He is housetrained, travels well in the car and loves heading out to explore. Mario can pull slightly on the lead when something catches his interest, so his new family will need to be comfortable walking a large, strong dog.

Mario would be happiest in a calm and loving home with another dog for companionship, plenty of attention and lots of cosy sofa time.
