Augustus's ideal home

Sweet and sensitive Augustus is a 3 and a half year old Greyhound who is just learning about the big wide world. He finds the world a bit of a scary place right now and is hoping to find a family that will show him how wonderful home life can be. He likes to go on walks with his calm and gentle doggy friends, he will happily follow his 4 legged pals around, seeing what they are up to and learning from them. He will need to build a strong bond with his new family before going home, so he knows that he will be safe and secure with them. This sweet lad is looking for the right home to call his own.

Augustus is looking for a calm and quiet home with loving and active adopters who can take him on sniffy adventures in quieter walking areas, who will take the time to help him settle in and give him all the love and attention he deserves. He can be worried by sudden, loud noises so is looking for a home with older secondary school children who can be calm around him, who can play with him nicely and will give him space to rest and relax when needed. Augustus could live with another calm and polite dog who will happily co-exist and engage in occasional play, this will be pending successful meetings at the centre, although he does gain confidence from other dogs, living with another dog is not a necessity, he would love to have polite and friendly walking buddies. Augustus has a little training under his belt, he can be enticed to engage in training in short sweet sessions if a tasty treat is on offer and as long as he is feeling safe and secure, he is currently doing training around car travel as he can be worried by the car. He would like a home with a private, secure garden for him to potter about in at his leisure. Augustus can be worried being left so is looking for someone home the majority of the time, especially to begin with, any leaving time would need to be built up slowly once he has had time to settle into his new home. Augustus will need to meet his adopters multiple times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet her within 48hrs of being shortlisted.
