About This Dog for Adoption

Donny's ideal home

Donny is a 5 year old Greyhound who is the size of a small pony! He's super sweet and affectionate, and enjoys leaning on you to get some scratches. Donny came into our care after retiring from racing, so he is looking for a patient and loving family who can help him settle in to the luxury of home life. Due to his racing history and high prey drive, he should always be kept on a lead and muzzle in public spaces. Donnie would be able to share his home with another dog, of a similar size and nature, as well as children around primary school age.

Could you be Donny's perfect match?

Any time that this gentle giant is left home alone for should be slowly introduced and increased as he settles in. In the meantime, a family who can offer him constant companionship would be ideal. Donny can be a little cautious in new places and by new sounds, so he'd benefit from having access into his own secure garden. Animal Welfare licence number is AWE02, as licenced by Glasgow City Council.

Dogs Trust Adoption Process

Thinking of adopting through Dogs Trust? Here's what to expect before you start your application.

  • Register your interest in adoption on the Dogs Trust website - you can't apply for specific dogs directly.
  • Create an account to favourite dogs you're interested in and help the team understand your preferences.
  • Dogs Trust will match you with dogs that fit your lifestyle and home environment.
  • Some dogs listed here may already be rehomed or reserved, as updates can take time to sync.
  • If matched, you'll go through their adoption and home-check process before taking your new dog home.
