About This Dog for Adoption

Tommy's ideal home

Tommy can live with children of high school age but will need to be the only dog in the home due to being very nervous. He will have spent his life in a kennel environment so please be patient when it comes to house training.

Could you be Tommy's perfect match?

Poor Tommy spends his day hiding away on the inside of his kennel. We do our best to get him out as much as we can and he's always raring to go, and we think he would benefit from having a few safe spaces that he can retreat to in his new home. Tommy's world has been quite small up to now so it's understandable that it's overwhelming for him, and we do what we can to encourage him to explore and boost his confidence. When he encounters other dogs that aren't Greyhounds, he stares in wonder but then gets himself into a little panic if they bark or get too close. We think sending him home with another dog probably wouldn't do him any favours, so we continue to keep him walking with other leggy hounds. Tommy's new family will need be patient and understanding, he has seen so little in his life that everything is rather a culture shock for him, but he will get there with love and kindness. he hasn't shown any interest in toys just yet but he sure loves his grub! Tommy gets very excited and feeding times and eats quickly, so he may benefit form a slow feeder to prevent any tummy issues.
