About This Dog for Adoption

Neville's ideal home

Neville is a gorgeous 3 year old greyhound lad, who is looking for everyone in the home to be over the age of 8 years. Neville could live with a calm, confident resident dog in the home pending a successful meet here at the center. Due to Neville's prey drive - having been an ex-racer - he would not be suitable for a home with any cats or small furries. Neville is such a loving, friendly boy who is adjusting to life outside of being a racer, so is, understandably, a little underconfident around new things. His handlers call him "Needy Neville" as he relies heavily on his people for confidence and reassurance. He needs loving, patient owners to help him explore this new world at his pace.

Could you be Neville's perfect match?

Neville is an angel boy who just loves a good fuss! He is looking for a sofa to lie on after a nice sniffy stroll. Due to Neville never being left on his own in a home environment before, this would need building up gradually as he settles in, so someone who is around for most of the day would be ideal. He likes to have a calm, parallel walk with a confident dog that will give him some space when he needs it and won't try and play with him too much. Neville is a foodie boy and he will be your best friend if you offer him a cube of cheese! Neville really is such a special boy and deserves a lovely home where he can grow into the confident boy we know he can be!

Greyhound Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Greyhound.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Greyhound Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
