About This Dog for Adoption

Drake's ideal home

Eight-year-old Drake is a gentle, easy-going soul looking for a calm and quiet home where he can truly relax. He’d love a peaceful environment with a secure garden to explore at his own pace and a cosy spot indoors where he can unwind in comfort. Drake isn’t a fan of hard or tiled floors — he finds them a bit unsettling — so he’ll need mats or rugs down in the areas he’s expected to use. Drake could live with secondary-school age children but needs to be the only dog at home. He does enjoy walking alongside familiar dogs, but at home, he prefers to be the only one soaking up your attention. He’ll need to stay on-lead around wildlife and isn’t suitable for homes with cats or small animals, due to his natural sighthound instincts.

Could you be Drake's perfect match?

This long-legged gentleman is one who enjoys life’s simple pleasures, a comfy bed to snooze on, and a family who values a slower, more peaceful pace of life. He’s quietly affectionate and likes to be near you, leaning in for a fuss or curling up beside you on the sofa. He’s not particularly interested in toys (though he might give one a half-hearted chase now and then) and would always rather a treat or some one-on-one time. Drake would be a wonderful match for someone looking for a loyal friend to share relaxed walks, quiet evenings, and plenty of sofa cuddles. If you’ve got a calm home and a soft spot for dogs who take life one gentle step at a time, Drake could be just the companion you’ve been waiting for.
