About This Dog for Adoption

Laddy's ideal home

If you love a black Greyhound then It's your lucky day. Here's not 1, but 2 handsome lads looking for their forever home together. Laddy (4 yrs) and Thunder (4 yrs) are a bonded pair who rely heavily on each other for confidence. They are both shy around new people so need owners with the time and patience to let them come round. During the short time they have been with us we have started to see them come out of their shells, play with toys and start to relax a little. In a home, it won't take long before they are part of the family.

Could you be Laddy's perfect match?

Laddy and Thunder would benefit from a quieter home without young children or other pets, especially small furries. Secondary school age kids and over should be fine. If you haven't owned Greyhounds before it would be good to have a read up on the breed. They do make great pets and don't need as much exercise as you may think. (They are basically oversized couch potatoes !!). Just an enclosed garden for some crazy off lead zoomies and a possible house training refresher. If you have room in your heart and on your sofa for these 2 deserving boys then fill in the apply to adopt form.

Greyhound Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Greyhound.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Greyhound Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
