About This Dog for Adoption

Finn's ideal home

Handsome Finn is a gorgeous Greyhound who is ready to find his forever home. He has come to us as an ex racer and therefore has likely never had any experience of life in home. Like most Greyhounds, Finn enjoys his walkies and zoom around with a squeaky toy before he's ready to curl up in a big comfy duvet for nap. He would love a home where he can enjoy his walks and lots of attention from his new family. Finn has been friendly with everyone he's met here at the centre, often greeting everyone with a waggy tail and nudge of his nose. We think he could live with children 6+ who are confident around large dogs and who can understand that Finn may like some quiet time on his own sometimes. We are still assessing Finn's dog interactions, but he seems to be quite relaxed seeing dogs out on his walks. For now he would be best suited as the only dog, however this could change in the future. Finn does wear his muzzle out on his walks, as he does have a high chase drive and for this reason isn't suitable to live with cats or small furries. We recommend any time being left is gradually built up once he's settled into home life and he may need help with things such as housetraining too.

Could you be Finn's perfect match?

Finn is a real gentle giant who is loving having all the toys he could dream of to play with! If you have a Greyhound shaped hole in your life, the Finn could be the paw-fect match for you!

Greyhound Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Greyhound.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Greyhound Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
