Description

Maggy's ideal home

Maggy is an adorable Greyhound with a sensitive soul. She adores the company of her humans, but it may take her a while to show off her true, sweet, and loving character. Due to her nervous nature, she will be looking for a home where the youngest members of her family are over the age of 16 and able understand her body-language. While unable to live with any cats, Maggy is a sociable lady with other canines and is happy to live with a well-suited dog who could keep her company and offer occasional playtime. She is currently living with her good friend Scooby Doo and would be happy to continue this living arrangement if her potential adopters would consider offering their home to two long-legged beauties! Travelling in the car and walking next to traffic are areas that Maggy finds particularly challenging. Her new family should be physically able to lift her into a car in case of emergencies, and should be based locally in Sussex, so that she doesn’t have to travel too far. In the initial months, Maggy will likely find it too overwhelming to venture off outside of her house. Because of this, her new abode should have a decent-sized garden for her to zoom about in. Leaving her alone at home should be built up very gradually and only once she is fully settled into her new routine.

Could you be Maggy's perfect match?

When making friends with Maggy, she prefers a no-pressure, hands-off approach but once she knows you well, she’ll become increasingly affectionate and enjoy gentle fusses, nudging into you for more! While currently indifferent when it comes to toys, when her confidence grows, Maggy’s playful side may begin to blossom. She is hopeful to find patient adopters, who can be understanding that it may take a month or more for her to settle in.

Greyhound Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Greyhound.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
