About This Dog for Adoption

Quinn's ideal home

Quinn is a very affectionate six-year-old Greyhound who is searching for a pet-free home where she can soak up all the attention from her family. Although she is a friendly girl, we are looking for her to live with adults only as she has spondylosis and hip dysplasia. Don't let this put you off as it doesn't hold her back from going on long walks and being active! She would like an enclosed garden of her own to run around in as she will need to be kept on a lead in public. Quinn is fine to be left for up to 4 hours a day so if you need to pop out, she'll be snoozing on the sofa. If you rent your property, please ensure you have written permission from your landlord before applying for a dog.

Could you be Quinn's perfect match?

Quinn is a very friendly girl who came in to us as a stray. She was initially a little timid if people were very full on with her but since being in foster she has blossomed into a well-rounded sweetheart. Quinn gets very excited to meet new people which can translate into jumping up initially, but she soon settles down and will stand for a fuss. Quinn is housetrained and walks lovely on a lead, she can be a little unsure of dogs she doesn't know but is happy to walk alongside gentle dogs. She recently went to the Lake District with her foster carers where she hiked, went to pubs and was an all-around delight. Could Quinn be the perfect girl for you? Please note that you won’t be applying for a specific dog, but you can tell us what type of dog you’re looking for. You can also add up to four favourites to your application to give us an idea of the dogs you like, so we can consider you for similar dogs. Once you’ve submitted your application, we can’t change or update your favourites. Adding a dog to your application is not a reservation but a guide for us to find you a match.

Greyhound Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Greyhound.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Greyhound Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
