Description

JayJay's ideal home

JayJay is a super sweet 2yr old ex-racing Greyhound. He's really friendly with everyone he meets. He's perfectly manageable around other dogs but doesn't like to have them up in his face. He'll be fine to have calm walking buddies, but will need to be the only pet in his home. As you'd expect for his breed, he has a chase instinct so will need to be walked in areas where he won't come across cats or too many other small furry critters! He'll need his own secure garden for his 'Zoomies'. It's a Greyhound thing!

Could you be JayJay's perfect match?

JayJay will really suit a calm home as he likes a quiet life. Young children wouldn't suit him but secondary school aged kids should be fine. He's so friendly and loves meeting new people, but as he gets to know you more he gets even more affectionate. Unfortunately he really struggles being left alone, so he'll need someone around all the time initially and very slowly build up to spending any time on his own. We can happily help and advise the best way to do this and we know once he's settled into his new home he'll be a perfect companion and sofa buddy!

Greyhound Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Greyhound.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 6 months, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
